Sazolene is the brand name for methylene urea and urea formaldehyde nitrogen produced by Sadepan Chimica, Viadana, Italy. AG Specialties is Sadepan's contracted distributor for MU and UFN products in the US and Canada. Sadepan has worked diligently to produce the highest quality MU and UFN products on the market today. Our granular products are truly round granulated fertilizer, not a crushed and screened material. Our products are more uniform and less dusty. We have the full range of sizes and colors, and release patterns, needed by the professional turf and ornamental industry. We have inventories at key port locations to provide a high level of service. Please review the technical comparison pages below as well as the ongoing university test results. Call us for pricing or for any questions you may have about this great line of control release nitrogen products.
How it Works
Compared to other controlled release nitrogen sources, Sazolene do not inhibit the microbes activity in the soil but improve the natural fertility of the soil increasing and sustaining population of beneficial organism because is a source of organic carbon and nitrogen. Furthermore Sazolene protects groundwater from nitrates and keeps nitrogen in the soil profile providing uniform and sustained feeding even in hot weather and heavy rains because Nitrogen release is not directly depending from temperature or hydrolysis.
- Reduce loss of available nitrogen for plants
- Eliminate nitrate groundwater pollution
- Increase natural soil fertility
- Eliminate phytotoxicity and burning potential
- Do not contain toxic compounds or elements

New Patented Technology
Sadepan's Methylene Ureas are obtained by a new patented technology, which creates a more completely reacted methylene urea, yielding round granules, the lowest content of unreacted urea and Salt Index.
Release Timing
The nitrogen release rates of Sadepan's Methylene Ureas are determined by the designed polymer lengths. Several formulations are available, providing balanced release patterns from 12 weeks to 10 months. Careful balance between fast acting nitrogen (N-Urea) and gradual release nitrogen (N-Methylene-urea).
Maximum Uniformity
The round granules are available in several particle size range from 0,4mm to 3,5mm. The Uniformity Index is between 50 and 70, some of the most uniform products available.
Higher Available Nitrogen
Leaching Loss of available nitrogen more than 3 times less that of IBDU, 9 times less that of SCU and 40 times less that Ammonium Sulphate.
Special Forms
Special Forms are available for specific manufacturing processes for compacted or granulated fertilizers lower than 0,4 mm.
Salt Index and pH
The Salt Index of Sadepan MU products is one of the lowest available in the fertilizer industry compared to other prompt nitrogen fertilizers (Ammonium Nitrate at 105, Ammonium Sulphate at 70, Urea at 75). The pH is Neutral in aqueous solution.
Storage and Technological Issues
Sadepan's Methylene ureas can be stored without problems at room temperature since they have much lower hygroscopicity than traditional nitrogenous fertilizers. They can be mixed with traditional granular fertilizers dust free and remain free flowing without caking.
Availability Process
Natural bio-availability of Methylene Urea nitrogen through the microbiological activity of the soil (from 5 °C or 41°F).
Superior Root Growth and No Phytotoxicity
Sadepan's methylene ureas promoted strong root growth and balanced top growth. When compared to other slow release N sources Sadepan's methylene ureas produced more than twice as much root growth as some other slow release N sources. It means a physionutritional action to the roots.
Compliance with Eco-Environmental
Sadepan's methylene ureas leach less N than other available slow-release N sources and do not contain toxic compounds or elements.
